“November Blues” – 9 January 2015
The Arosa cable car company has started operating for ten months of the year. Our aim is to provide new stimuli and give November, in particular, that extra boost. November is more of a grey month –- especially down in the lowlands. Something that is commonly referred to as the November Blues. And, in Arosa too, this month has been rather desolate in terms of tourism in the past. But all that is set to change this year. The Arosa cable car company will now be operating for ten months of the year. The aim is to close the gap between the summer and winter season with attractive offerings in the mountains – at weekends during the initial phase.
Ideas workshop in the village
At the start of February, the project approved by the Board of Directors is to be presented to those who are to run the programme. This will be followed by an ideas workshop in the village at the start of March. Against this background, the cable car company is assuming that work can start on the snow-making facility for the “middle ski run” in July.
Arosa Lenzerheide Snowpark – 8 January 2015
The Arosa Lenzerheide Snowpark is a big freestyle arena divided into four different areas catering for all tastes and levels. The generously dimensioned Park’n’Pipe Tschuggen in Arosa is definitely an insider’s tip amongst Switzerland’s Freestyle Parks. With the Wood Ranch on the run down to the bottom station of the Weisshornbahn and the JibArea Stätz, everything is in place for an enjoyable and varied freestyle day. And the new fun slope in Stätzertäli is particularly popular with families.
“Best Ski Resort” Award 2014
On 6 November, the results of the international “Best Ski Resort” study for 2014 were presented. And the Swiss have come out right on top. With Zermatt as the overall winner and Arosa in third place, no fewer than two Swiss ski resorts have made it onto the winners’ rostrum. “Best Ski Resort” is an independent customer satisfaction study conducted every two years by MOUNTAIN MANAGEMENT Consulting. During the 2013/14 winter season, a total of 47,925 skiers and snowboarders were questioned about their level of satisfaction and their priorities in 55 top skiing areas in Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany and France. “Best Ski Resort” is thus the biggest on-mountain survey and the study with the highest information value in the Alps. The surveys were conducted four times in each of the winter sports resorts: twice during each of the high and low seasons. Skiers and snowboarders provided information on “relevance” and “satisfaction” in 23 different categories.
